Accessibility

People arrive at this site in difficult moments, sometimes using a screen reader, sometimes on an old phone. It should work for them. This page sets out what is in place, what is not, and how to tell us when we have got it wrong.

Conformance

We aim to meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA. This is a self-assessment rather than a third-party audit.

What is in place

• A skip link to main content on every page.
• The crisis line is the first element in the page markup, so it is the first thing a screen reader announces and the first stop when tabbing.
• One main heading per page, with headings in order.
• Visible focus outlines on everything interactive. Nothing is mouse-only.
• Text reflows to 400% zoom without horizontal scrolling.
• Animation is switched off when your device asks for reduced motion.
• The site works with JavaScript disabled. Navigation, content and phone numbers do not depend on it.

Known limitations

• English only. Tele MANAS operates in more than 13 languages; this site does not yet. We consider this the most serious gap.
• Course delivery is on a third-party platform. Once you log in to take a course, you are on the QPR Institute's system and we do not control its accessibility.
• No on-site search. Navigation is by menu and links.

Tell us what does not work

Write to [email protected] with what happened, which page, and what you were using. We aim to reply within five working days, and if we cannot fix something quickly we will tell you what the alternative is.
