Become a QPR instructor

Certified instructors can deliver QPR Gatekeeper Training themselves, inside their own institution or community. For anything above a few hundred people, this is cheaper and more durable than buying seats indefinitely.

Who this is for

You do not need a clinical qualification, but you do need to be someone who will actually run sessions afterwards. Certification without delivery helps nobody.

Campus staff

Counsellors, student affairs leads, wardens. Typically certified in a small group so the training survives one person leaving.

Healthcare

Nursing tutors, hospital training officers, public health programme staff.

NGOs and community

Programme managers running outreach where sending everyone on a paid course is not realistic.

Workplaces

Learning and development teams, EAP coordinators, internal wellbeing leads.

What certification involves

  1. Take the gatekeeper course first

You cannot teach the method without having been through it. Most candidates complete QPR Gatekeeper Training before the instructor programme begins.

  2. Instructor training

A live, cohort-based programme covering the material, how to deliver it, how to handle disclosure in a room, and what to do when a session surfaces someone currently at risk.

  3. Certification and materials

On completion you are certified to deliver QPR Gatekeeper Training and receive the instructor materials. Certification is renewable, not permanent.

Ask about instructor certification

Tell us your organisation, your role, and roughly how many people you would expect to train in a year. Cohorts are scheduled based on demand rather than a fixed calendar.
