Niranjan Ramamurthy
Writes the policy and data notes on this site. Holds QPR Gatekeeper certification, awarded August 2026.
Why he writes these
Most writing about suicide prevention in India either quotes a statistic without saying what it measures, or avoids numbers altogether. The notes here try to sit between those. Where a figure comes from the National Crime Records Bureau or a government guideline, it is cited, and where it will not carry the weight people put on it, that is said plainly.
He took the QPR Gatekeeper course himself before writing about it, on the view that describing training you have not done is a poor basis for describing it accurately.
